This brand new screensaver features a raging river and lots of Christian Fish struggling upstream.  Check it out.  It's completely free.  Show off your Christian Fish at work or at home or anywhere.  Cool 3D graphics and music.

This screensaver was written with DarkBasicPro and the interface was created with PureBasic.  If you have questions about the development techniques used, feel free to email me.  My email is finally working again after a long hiatus.

Tidal Forces is a 3D accelerated screensaver which I originally created as an entry into the Operation3Dfx screensaver/programming contest. Tidal Forces won first place by an overwhelming majority!
wpe15.jpg (21736 bytes)
What is it? Tidal Forces simulates the power of gravity (commonly called 'tidal forces' on the grand planetary scale). As you watch the screensaver you will see up to 999 objects get tugged around by up to 10 'gravitrons'. The gravitrons act as artificial black holes and have an inescapable gravitational pull (the event horizon). Every once in a while, you will be pulled into the gravity well, slam into the artificial black hole, enter the singularity, and fly through a worm hole into a parallel universe. It's very fun to watch since it's never the same twice, and the pull from the gravitrons can create beautiful swirling 'galaxies' with the objects.

With The full version TidalForcesXL, you get all the great features of the regular TidalForces screensaver, plus lots of really great customization features. You can change the graphics on the walls to be any bitmap you have on your hard drive, create a space scene with downloaded Hubble images! Also included in TidalForcesXL is the ability to change the underlying physics driving the gravity simulation! You can tweak and adjust many parameters from the Advanced Options panel, adjust the time you spend in wormholes, select your favorite 3D objects, etc. The possibilities are nearly endless (literally!). So pick up your copy of TidalForcesXL today. It costs about as much as dinner, and provides a whole lot more enjoyment (burp...)

PC Magazine said this in a review of TidalForces:
"If you've always wanted a screensaver that would really showcase your machine's hot graphics capabilities, this is it! VR Tidal Forces uses your 3D accelerator card to create a stunning, mesmerizing visual display that simulates the force of gravity. As you watch, you will see up to 500 objects get tugged around by up to ten 'gravitrons', which act as artificial black holes. Every so often, you'll be pulled into one of the black holes, enter the singularity, and fly through a wormhole into a parallel universe -- and then it starts all over again. Techno music pounds as brightly colored, startlingly detailed objects fly around your screen. Setting it up couldn't be easier. The reasonably-priced full version lets you use your own textures and graphics, and has advanced physics options and a ton of other customizable features. VR Tidal Forces may be one of the coolest screen savers ever." -

"Tidal Forces is undoubtedly the best screensaver yet!! The graphics are unreal. And the most unbelievable thing was it was free!! I definitely plan to buy some other screensavers if their quality is anywhere near Tidal Force. Keep it up VRMan---you are really impressive!!!" - Jim

"After installing Tidal Forces I finally know what my 3D-graphics card is for ;) I can watch it for hours and the frame rate is very high (25-45 fps with 200 mixed objects, 800*600). And the excellent music makes it perfect!" - Stephan C. Schmidt

I Support Our Troops!

Features:

The vrFireworks screensaver features advanced modeling of fireworks physics and lighting, optional sound effects, and American patriotic music.  The complex math produces a very realistic simulation of fireworks mortars and sulfur bombs exploding in displays that build into grand finales (complete with cheering crowds).  Easily take control of the launch tubes and create your own fireworks displays.  Watch the action from selectable camera views including aerial and stationary ground cameras.

Because of current events, this version includes signs (pictured above) that show your support for our troops around the world.  God Bless America.  Note: whether you agree or disagree with what is going on in the Persian Gulf, our troops need to know that we are standing behind them, praying for them,  and waiting for them to return home soon!
